I hate it when the shysters are actually laughing when they ring! Just had a call where he was enjoying himself so much with his fellow call scammers that he couldn’t speak for laughing. Hope he gets sacked. Do they sack scammers?

One scam on the mobile on the way home - Tesco Helpdesk wanted me to ring them to verify a payment of £2,980.Gbp to Tesco Stores ( ) then an answer machine message telling us that legal action was being taken against us by HMRC - what a welcome!

New scam - automated phonecall telling us we had been selected for free laptop/ computer service. The scammers are learning as I bet people will be taken in by a freebie rather than a threat to cut off your tinternet.
I've just had another call from the Windows team. (Like I believe that) This time, I let him waffle on for quite a while, although the Indian accent was a tad difficult to follow. I feigned real concern about the fact that they'd detected that I had a security issue with my computer (after all, he was paying for the call.)
After listening patiently to him, I then said "As I have a couple of Windows computers, could you tell me the specific model that is affected?"
