About 18 months ago, or thereabouts, I bought a new die cutting machine from Hobbycraft - an Xcut Xpress. Really pleased with it except that, just before Christmas, it stopped working. The gears had shed their teeth! I found out that they have a lifetime guarantee against faulty parts so contacted Docrafts (who produce it) to see if they would help, but you have to return it to where you bought it - tricky without a car as it's 14 miles away! I explained that (and my physical limitations) but no, it had to go back to HC.
Yesterday his nibs had to hire a car for a meeting, so when he got back he took me to Hobbycraft. I went up to the counter, dumped my machine on it with the receipt and said 'it's broke'! No problem, they said, lifetime guarantee, just let me get you another one. We swapped machines and my old cutting plates and I walked out with a brand new, shiny machine! (well, not straight away - I did a bit of shopping too!)
I had expected to have it examined and maybe a new one sent to me, so was most pleased to get it sorted there and then. I don't know if it is a Hobbycraft or Docrafts thing to just swap it without question but most impressed either way!

So pleased to hear your machine has been replaced EB, that's how it should be! I remember you saying it had broken when you were making your Christmas cards. Happy crafting!
