WOW!! I came home, saw Arsenal had beaten Chelsea 5-0 then scrolled down and it was like deja vu. An astounding peformance, why the feck we've left it so late is anyone's guess, but FFS Enzo don't mess about with team rotation anymore, one more win secures our PL status. It was a Fat Abdul show, the lad scored a fantastic hat-trick (3), while Vardy and (Yes) Ndidi added two more for the old skool. Now we must beat either Preston North End and/or Blackburn Rovers, if Boro had dealt with Leeds properly last night we'd already be promoted. C'MON!!!
Yet more fixtures tonight, back to the PL now, both 8pm KO.
Palace v Newcastle
Everton v Liverpool
Both Palace and Everton have shown some late season form, so these could be quite tricky for our teams. The Scousers are still up for the title pending other feck ups while The Geordies are clinging on to a Europa League spot, not wanting to end up in the daft Europa Conference League of Shite that Villa has been involved with.
Palace 2-0 Newcastle A poor display from the Geordies, but Palace are reinvigorated since Roy Hodgeson got the boot, the poor old bugger should not have been there in the first place and I mean that with all due respect to the bloke. The Geordies have been notoriously crap this season away, tonight was no exception and the Europa Conference League of Torment beckons.
Everton 2-0 Liverpool In which The Scousers effectively lost the season, the last possible trophy from the league title now gone unless Arsenal and Man City completely disintegrate, and that's not going to happen. I'm actually quite upset at how poor Liverpool have become, and I have to blame Klopp - his announcement of his intention to leave at the end of the season has piled enormous pressure on his players to succeed, and it's been too much to carry. A sorry finale for such a brilliant manager.
The Scousers have all but blown their title chances now, only a complete capitulation by City and Arsenil can save them now. Hammers scored first late in the first half, Liverpool equalised early in the second. There was faint hope when West Ham scored an own goal but they fixed that situation a few minutes later and that was that. Salah was a sub and had words with Klopp when he finally got on the pitch. In Egyptian obvs, so luckily no one could understand him.
The Geordies are still in the European hunt thanks to a sound thrashing of foot of the table Sheffield Utd. The cutlery makers actually went ahead for a few minutes before dying on their sorry arses again and letting NCL be the team that sends them back to the Championship. Bye bye....
Hugely disappointing result, Villa having gone from a tedious 2-0 advantage only for plucky Chelsea (who I normally despise) to pull it back to level. But there was uproar at the end when the Pensioners scored a third which was then disallowed by VAR. Boss Morris Pochcornetto had a right strop, quite rightly too, clearly VAR was being operated by a Villa fan. Villa are now, despite being chased by Spurs for 4th place, virtually guaranteed European football next season. Again.
