All retailers quote the RRP when they're 'discounting items' but how often does anyone ever sell those things at the RRP? So if you haven't done your homework on what they actually sell for you might get taken in by 'RRP £149.99 our price £110 save £39.99' or whatever, when in reality it's the 'normal' price. I don't tend to buy expensive or large items on impulse in the sales if it's something I want/need I've already done my research so am aware of the going rate and can judge if it's a good price or not, these days if you shop around you can normally get good deals at 'sale prices' at anytime

The Asda Black Friday punch ups were the year before last, last year shops were a lot more wary and were obviously wanting to avoid the bad publicity of the previous year
