Just telling you this to make you aware, please make sure you keep an eye on any normal light coloured age spots you may have.
In September I had what I thought was a mosquito bite on an age spot on my arm just above my wrist. It looked like a bite and itched like a bite. A couple of weeks later I notice it had darkened and changed shape. Another couple of weeks it was still itching and had become raised and lumpy.
After doing a bit of online research, I went to the doctor for my flu jab and showed it to her, and today it was removed. It was a basal cell carcinoma, which is the best kind to have. He assured me that it was all removed and highly unlikely I would hear any more about it. He did say that having one meant I may be susceptible to getting more, so I will make sure I check regularly. It wasn’t very big but it’s quite a wound, I get the stitches removed end of next week.
I can start watching the 8 episode of The Missing now lol!
I did get a free pair of scissors, really good quality ones. The doctor offered them to me as he would have had to throw them away after cutting the stitches thread. Unbelievable, in the old days they would have been sterilised and used for years.
Just as well you checked it out Frazz Far too many people ignore these changes. My sister had what she called a 'wart' on her leg. Like you, she casually mentioned it to her GP at the end of a consultation for another matter because it was catching on her tights. She too had it removed.
I had a mole removed about 30 years ago and that came back as canerous, thankfully I've had no problems since but it does make you more vigilant even for other people. A couple of years ago my sister had one that I didn't like the look of and eventually I got her to see her doctor about it, her's was canerous too and a nasty one at that so it's better to safe than sorry
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong

Good to know you are OK.Go back regularly Frazz for check ups- my sister has had skin cancer several times and has a yearly check up in Germany and this time after several clear years she has to go back for a removal.
I don't often venture down to the health and beauty section, but I've got a horrible warty thing growing on my cheek*. I had a similar one on my nose some years ago and some ointment sorted it out, hopefully this one will be the same.
