Stop reading if you are not interested in Craft . C&C were the original pure Craft Channel whose success forced QVC to ditch their craft shows. Then two new Craft Channels were set up-Hochanda and The Craft Channel, Hochanda being first off the starting block . They poached some suppliers like Silhouette from C&C mainly because C&C were constantly flogging the Brother Cut'n Scan. Barbara Grey and her Groovy plate, Phill Martin and his group etc went to Hochanda. Slowly C&C was becoming the Tattered Lace Channel with Stephanie Weightman's products. Next Sarah Davies and her Crafter's Companion defected to Hochanda. Quite a few crafters were pleased as like Dawn Bibby , Sara raises strong feelings in some crafters ( I have no beef with either of them). Meanwhile Dawn , Julian and Debbie got into a right pickle at TCC. They had a few big names like Anna Griffin but by last November the dream was over. Jodie Johnson , who demos for Tonic had a brief spell on her own at TCC as did Lizzie and Rossella but Jodie returned to Tonic Studios pdq ( think she saw what was going to happen) and was back on C&C. Silhouette went back to C&C from Hochanda. After the TCC disaster lots of companies started going on Hochanda - Lizzie working for Debbie Shore, Rossella for Barbara Grey, Els and her Elizabeth Crafts, Dawn and her new stuff from Craft Buddy. This week Tonic have said on FB that they are moving to Hochanda. Some of the posts on Tonic FB and Hochanda FB are toxic . It's like they are saying Tonic are traitors and they will never buy from them again because they are moving to Hochanda. Comments about how bad the presenters are at H and how they have been betrayed by Tonic. The whole saga is surreal - some people are definitely fruitcakes! With both TCC and Hochanda people were alway moaning on their FB pages because they were not on Virgin. To think I thought crafting was about creativity!
People do sometimes forget that these are first and foremost businesses who have to try and do what is best for that business to survive. It amazes me how many people seem to think they are there purely for the customers' (or their own personal) convenience! I know you have to take customers into account, as without them you are nothing, but still! FB does get extremely unpleasant at times when some elements believe their opinion is the only one that counts and everyone else is a moron - and tell you in no uncertain terms. I try to stay away from the various shopping channel pages.
