It's difficult to find something that you like and actually works. Applying every two hours sounds a bit of a pain to me but then I have never been entirely convinced that the once a day application works 100%.

It must be down to individual skin type @itchy as I never let the sun near my tender spots - shoulders, ankles, top of thighs until I started using the Aldi one as I use to burn after AY's literally seconds. I am still very careful in that as soon as I feel too hot I will put something over the sensitive bits and abroad it's hats and sunnies. When I was about 14 I did the twin town French exchange programme and my host family took me to the Îsle d'Oléron where we played on the beach all day with no sunscreen. I was delirious when we got back to their home and the sunburn was excrutiating. Never again!
I'm the opposite in that I rarely burn but have to say I thought the Aldi one was really good. The factor 30 lasts really well on me here in the UK. I haven't used it abroad though.
I agree @itchy. When we were in India I applied Ultrasun more than once a day just in case. I tried Clinique last year & took it back. My face was OK but my neck was bright red. I've ordered the Elizabeth Arden Eight 8 hour Sun Defense. If it doesn't agree with my face I'll use it on my hands.
I wear Ultrasun face all year round. Factor 30 in winter and factor 50 in the summer. Sometimes I put on moisturiser after 20 minutes if I feel my skin needs a boost, but often I just use moisturiser at night. I'm uncertain whether the effectiveness of the once a day application does last, but as I spend the time avoiding the sun it probably doesn't really matter for my skin.
He didn't end up buying it Nellie, we found some factor 70 in Costco in Austin, so he's using that. He's got to have more treatment on another BCC - at this rate he'll have no nose left
