I think we all know about the telephone preference service but there is a second service called silentgard which stops those blipping overseas calls centres where they randomly dial numbers and only connect if and when you pick up ... silentgard.com.
Some interesting ideas - who knew WD40 was so versatile!
I like the duvet cover tip although my method works for me. I don't wash 'em till I need 'em, then I hang them on the bannisters and when they are dry I put them on the bed! To explain, I have a very large laundry basket and no airing cupboard!
When you get an insect bite, stir a little Bicarbonate of soda into a drop of any kind of gel, or even toothpaste, and rub in. Not a good look if you are going out as it dries white and crusty but for an emergency indoor remedy, it beats all the bite remedies I have ever tried.
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
^^^ I've still got some scars from my Greek mozzy bites cassandra, annoyingly our Greek hostess did not recommend any sort of bicarbonate remedy, she just pointed and grunted "Bites" before walking off. I'm like "Get away!".

There's nowt grumpier than a grumpy Greek. As a nation, they all seem to fall into two distinct categories, smiling, welcoming, can't do enough for you or grumpy, morose, unsmiling. Whatever mood they are in, they are LOUD. I have extremely sensitive hearing so I can't just get used to it and it really hurts at times. Doesn't help that 2 old friends meeting in the street sound as if they are having an altercation when in fact, they are just pleased to see each other. In enclosed spaces like buses, it's a nightmare...

Apparently, WD-40 is so called because it is a water displacing product and it took the engineers at the Rocket Chemical Company in San Diego 40 attempts to get the formula right. It was originally developed for Nasa not for domestic use.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
I've defied NASA then because I used it this morning to free up a stiff tap. I also used it to spruce up my stainless steel sink and it did a really good job. Far less hassle than Cif and it doesn't leave a white residue. I'd never have thought to use it for the sink if it hadn't been for the long list of uses on the previous page. 😀

Would that work on a squeaky tap Toril? It is so loud when I turn it. Never thought about using it to clean the sink. Do you spray and wipe?
