I've been waiting since August 28 for two second hand books from an Amazon seller in Sussex. I could have made the round trip to collect them in about 5 hours.

As I have Prime membership I tend to look for next day delivery. I have recently had two incidents where the original order showed next day delivery and overnight it changed. The first item was 5 days late but as I had called, complained and re- ordered the morning I got the new date and the item came the next day as it should, I got the refund so I was mollified. This time I have left poor seller feedback as I was incensed by the sneakiness of it. Should either of you want to complain I have a phone number that works. 0800 279 7234
When I complained, I was informed that "it clearly states that standard shipping takes 15 working days from the date of despatch" - well, that's a lie because it says on my order that the expected delivery date was September 5. Anyway, I've calculated that tomorrow is 15 working days from the despatch date so woebetide them if the books don't appear.
15 days to get from Sussex to Essex! - must be a bicycle courier they use.

I'm not with Prime but, although I don't order much from Amazon, I do usually receive my order quicker than those from QVC. Something from China arrived in a week.
Returns from Amazon are quicker too. They had reimbursed me for the recent return within 2 days and it was back in my account before they'd received the parcel at their depot.
If your item doesn't turn up, Pinky, I suggest ending using the number that FP put n her post. Phone before 5pm if you can because you're more likely to get someone whose first language is English which makes things easier.
Also you can have an online chat and ask for a copy of the chat to be emailed to you.
When I had the theft of the 2 x £100 gift cards last Christmas, I rang (twice,) had two online chats plus transcripts, but the quickest response was by emailing CS. Within four hours of my first contact in that way, the refund had been initiated and the money was in my bank the following day.
So long as it's a purchase from Amazon, rather than their marketplace, they should sort it out quickly for you.

This morning I got an email from the seller of something due to arrive today telling me it had been delivered and wanting, I presume, positive feedback.Darn cheek! I completed the thingy pointing out that I hadn’t yet received it and they were a bit previous in saying I had. It arrived late this afternoon.

As some of you may recall I was experiencing a few problems with an Amazon Delivery Driver who was being very awkward and rude so I hadn’t ordered anything from them since as I was concerned the driver would again deliver it to a neighbour without telling me where. I wanted a metal shim for my cuttlebug and have only been able to source it on Amazon. To my delight it is coming via DPD so I know the time slot and it won’t be the unpleasant delivery bloke. I wonder whether this is because it is a Sunday or the rogue driver has blacklisted me or they realised their profits were falling? Whatever , absolutely relieved.
