Anyone fancy popping round for tea? To celebrate Mr FP’s homemade mint sauce using our own lovely fresh mint I decided to get lamb this week. As Mrs FP Minor is not a fan due to living at one time next to a field of gambolling lambs due for a meeting at the abattoir we rarely have a joint of lamb even when they are visiting.I ordered half a leg of lamb but they delivered a full leg at no extra cost so I kept it. Just read the label - feeds SIXTEEN!
Lovely as it sounds, I'm with Mrs FP minor on this.
You might think differently if you lived here. They are a bloody nuisance baaing at the top of their lungs all the time and breaking down our wall and frolicking around the garden. The lambs are cute though.
My mum used to do that with all leftover meat, Frazz, unless she'd got some earmarked for a shepherd's pie. She had a Spong mincer in the days before food processors - anyone else remember those? They clamped onto a table and churned up chunks of meat.

I remember those mincers, Nellie. Mum used to buy a leg of lamb for Sunday dinner and would mince up the left overs and make a shepherd's pie for the next day. She also used it at Christmas. She'd mince up any left over turkey on about 28th December, plus any left over ham, (a cooked ham joint was our traditional breakfast choice over Christmas, and still is.) She'd then create the most delicious turkey and ham roll which we'd devour over the New Year.
