The Met Office has said Hurricane Maria could move north and bring strong winds and heavy rain. A weather map by WX Charts has shown 85mph winds heading towards northern Scotland, 65mph winds to northern England and more than 40mph gale-force winds heading towards in the South and Midlands. Meteorologists are currently watching the progress of Hurricanes Lee and Maria as they take curved tracks across the North Atlantic. Frank Saunders, duty chief meteorologist at the Met Office, said: 'Ex-Maria is likely to impact our weather towards the end of the weekend and into the beginning of next week
Well, hopefully it will have blown itself out before I go Oop North on Sunday. I don't relish the thought of driving with the wind behind me or getting blown to smithereens while we're out and about. It plays havoc with my hair.
Storm Hannah heads in: UK will be hit by gales tomorrow with travel chaos and power cuts feared as new weather system sweeps in from the Atlantic You have been warned.

Drove home from lunch out with the FP Minors through hailstones, thunder and lightning then torrential rain along the M60. Unpleasant! Mr FP played golf without any nasty weather.
We are supposed to get battered with the latest storm tomorrow and Saturday. It's very annoying - I have to go to town on the bus in the morning. I hope it doesn't arrive until evening....or better still I hope it doesn't arrive at all.
We had a few drops of rain, but it's still warm enough to go out without a coat. I'm not going out for the next couple of days, so what's the betting that a deluge hits me when I do venture out.
I hope everyone escapes the really bad weather that they are predicting.
