When my MiL died, there were 2.5 gold sovereigns to be shared between Mr Nell and his sister. She decided, of course, that it would be fairer if she had 1.5 so my suggestion to sell them and divide the money equally went down well.
As she was living in Spain at the time, I found a jeweller who was paying good prices for old gold and they were sold but it made me have a rootle about in my jewellery box(es) to see what was broken or what I no longer wore. I also took all the gold butterflies off my earrings and offered them to him separately and, although they seemed little and insubstantial, they boosted the price he was offering so I sold them too. I only ever use those plastic things now.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
I haven't had any problems with my Happy Backs, but I do have to keep swapping them around. The plastic ones might be good for my sister too, she can't manage a butterfly anymore due to arthritis in her fingers.
By the way FP, your pendants are earrings are in that place where you knew you would remember?
Yes it arrived a few days ago, but I can't open it till Mrs M is not around, and clearly she's around a lot atm. It's bad enough she was first to the door mat and found the package with QVC.COM all over it...
It will be in a QVC ring box so you just need a small piece of wrapping paper and some ribbon.
So the wrapping paper with QVC.COM printed all over it won't be acceptable then?
If it's their standard size ring box, they are pretty small anyway. Two or three inches square of gift paper should do the trick. You won't need to go out and buy a whole roll of wrapping paper!
But you might want to put it in a big gift box to make it look more impressive.
