I don’t understand why the Americans call a fringe bangs. Where does it originate? Is it a corruption of bangers: sauasges. I can see a fringe looking like a sausage.
The term bangs originally referred to hair cut bang-off (i.e. straight across at the front), although the term is now applied to diverse forms of hair styling. It is probably related to bang-tail, a term still used for the practice of cutting horses' tails straight across.
I'm like the Queen, I found a style that works for me and will stick with it forever, probably. I have very fine, limp, frizzy hair.I wear clip-in extensions when I am out and about or my scalp would show every time the wind blew. I don't suit short hair so no fresh style for me.
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
