I have just flicked on to Q and this has just started. My god, you would think it was the Oscars! They are all in their poshest dresses and I can't help but laugh at the lot of them. AY has just presented the best cleanser award through gritted teeth to Caroline from Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish for the umpteenth time. I bet she hated that! She has never rated the brand even though she now tries to pretend otherwise.
It wasn’t as bad as last year when AY managed to produce fake tears of happiness when it won. It was pathetic. I heard her say a few months ago that she is the only presenter who has it stated in their contract that can decide not to show a product if she doesn’t believe in it. Yeah, right. We all know that money talks and I reckon Liz Earle is their second biggest seller after Elemis. If she’s told to present it, she’ll present it.
That might have been true years ago but I doubt it is now. I remember when the Liz Earle brand first started on Q. AY never once appeared on any of their shows and she never recommended the brand either when the beauty workshop shows had customer questions. It was a long time before she presented Liz Earle shows and when she did there was a very icy atmosphere between her and Queen Liz!
The beauty award show is so cheesy...I have just been back for a look. When there is a nomination the reps from those brands being nominated stand together around a table with their arms around each other. Then when the winner is announced they all rush to kiss the rep from the winning brand
I find the beauty shows like Liz Earle, Elemis, Decleor, and their ilk, mind-numbingly boring, so an evening of fawning sounds horrendous. I'm old enough to know how to apply moisturiser, how to wash my hands, how to spray perfume etc etc and so don't need to see hours of shows where they assume that we haven't got a clue. Therefore I'm not bothered who wins and who doesn't.
When I first found QVC I watched it a lot and have tried all the 'premium' brands and can't say they had a dramatic effect on my skin, so I no longer buy them. I'm lucky because my skin is pretty good for my age and most people think I'm 10-15 years younger than I am, but that's down to good genes, copious amounts of water and a life of staying out of the sun .... not a £50 pot of cream.
The fact that they put more effort into a beauty awards show than they do into 'normal' shows says a lot about them. Personally, I'd prefer to hear sizes given out in fashion shows, free P&P and no iPads on set. 😉
They’ll all be flashing their awards with fake smiles and dollops of insincere gratitude for weeks won’t they? I’ll catch up for sure.
The whole thing is a farce if you ask me. You can't vote for your favourite beauty item from QVC if you have one. They provide the nominations and you can only vote for one of them.

Another advantage of just looking for products on the website. If you need to know more they usually have a video clip. Can’t stand the delivery of most of the presentersor the way they think having the likes of Ruth whatsherface and Amanda flasher brands makes me think if I buy I will be like them.
