Just read an article about this in The DT and there are three versions altogether . ‘There are three packages available ; Volume and Shape comes with a pre-styling dryer plus two 30 mm barrels and a round brush; Smooth and Control comes with a pre-styling dryer, two x 30 mm and two x 40 mm brushes and a firm brush. Both cost £399.99 while the Airwrap Complete which additionally has firm, soft and round brushes, is £499.99. If your hair’s chin length, like mine, or short, your probably don’t need all the extras that come with the Complete’ ‘The Airwrap comes with clockwise and anti-clockwise rotating barrels, for left and right sides. This is game-changing because even if some of us can just about – after a lot of practice – perfect our technique on one side of our heads, until the Airwrap’s inventors had their lightbulb moment concerning the contra-rotating barrels, achieving an identical effect on the other side is the kind of thing that can drive you mad.’
Not being a curly top I will stick with my Dyson hairdrier.
I saw that yesterday and can guarantee that QVC will soon be ramming that down our throats like that overpriced hairdryer.
I'm in the fortunate position that I could afford to buy both items but have absolutely no intention of doing so. They're overpriced (as are all Dyson products) and, although they might be revolutionary items for the hair, my hairdryer does a great job on my hair, which is over my shoulders, so to spend that amount is, in my opinion, not worth it. I use my hairdryer, which cost under £10, on a cool setting and people often comment on how nice my hair looks so it's obviously doing an reasonable job.
My apologies to those of you who have the hairdryer. 😳 I'm not trying to be controversial, I'm just voicing my opinion.

You are entitled to your opinion Toril , everybody needs to be heard.
I am still in love with my Dyson Hairdrier. It’s cost has now lowered itself to less than 50 p a day. If mine was stolen I would replace it straight away.
I tried a new hairdresser the other day, she had a Dyson dryer so I was interested to see how it performed. I asked her what she thought of it she said it was a gift from her mother and that she wouldn't have bought it, it was more expensive than her professional one and in her opinion it wasn't as good. Other than it being cooler when she was drying my hair I couldn't see any difference
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong
I’m with FP. The good news FP is that when I was burgled they didn’t nick it.
For me it’s made a real difference. This dizzy stuff has left me with an odd side effect and that’s a tender scalp that is pretty much always there. When it’s bad I can’t even bear to brush my hair. Being able to dry my hair quickly and easily with my fingers or with a brush is a godsend. I can go from fresh out of the shower to dry in less than five minutes.
Like Toril, and FP I’m sure, the cost wasn’t a barrier but I’m totally happy with my hairdryer. I doubt I’ll go for this as if I want curls I just leave it dry naturally. But if I wanted it then I’d buy it. Simples.
I know it's just me being wonky again, but when I saw the word 'airwrap' in the title I thought of some fancy cling film wrapping sandwiches gadget. I know! There's no cure you know
I read it as "airwarp" and I hadn't a clue what it might be.....other than a re-working of that classic song from the Rocky Horror Show "Let's do the airwarp again......".
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
I've seen a video demonstrating the new gizmo. It 'sucks' the hair round the barrel and then you twist it up the hair to where you want the curl to start. Knowing my luck, if I was prepared for fork out such a ridiculous amount of money, my hair would get sucked onto the barrel and would get stuck. 😳
However, as I dry my hair straight I won't be needing curls any time soon.
I have been swung by the fact that it is not just for curls now but straight hair styles too
Now that I am growing my hair (and indeed have the extensions in at the moment) it should help with whatever style I choose. There are attachments for curls, waves, body and straight. Expensive, yes, worth it, will let you know
I can remember thinking that I wouldn't ever pay for the previous Dyson but it was truly one of the best things I have ever bought for my very bothersome hair so Im hoping this next stage will be even easier
I have a buyer for the other Dyson if I decide to keep this new one
Forgot to say, it doesn't actually suck the hair in but it does the complete opposite, it blows it around the barrel and its impossible for the hair to get caught anywhere on it whatsoever
