Ooh, I love cavolo nero - which in the States (maybe just parts thereof) is actually called Kale! Very confusing watching their cooking programmes! I also like those baby kale thingies. I bought some last summer when they were on 'special' and shredded them raw in salads as well as stir-frying them. I'm not so keen on boiled cabbage (or any leafy green) but I do like it stir-fried - particularly in butter with lots of black pepper!
That's how I like shredded cabbage EB, but I use a little olive oil and chopped garlic. I've not used butter before, but I will try it next time I buy some.
I actually use a mix of olive oil and butter so the butter doesn't burn but heavier on the butter! And garlic goes in pretty well everything I cook! (Savoury, obv!)
