In all honesty, I never watch QVC now so can't comment on her prowess as a saleswoman but if she and the other old timers are still being employed, they must be doing something right.
On the very rare occasions I ever watched any of the other tele-shopping stations, it made me appreciate just how professional the QVC bunch were. The heavily fake tanned hands and grime encrusted nails of presenters on TJC made me slightly queasy.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
I don't often bother to watch the beauty shows on QVC because I don't need to be told how to cleanse or moisturise my skin.
However, Ali does give good advice about some of the products and will advise viewers if something isn't suitable for their skin type etc, unlike some presenters who pressure sell all the time. The only thing that "grates" on me is when she introduces herself as "Myself, Alison Young, Beauty expert" (or something like that, because I'm sure that using the word "myself" in that context isn't grammatically accurate. (Although I'm probably wrong. 😳)
I also don't understand why, for 99% of the time, she needs her sidekick Will on screen with her, but hey ho.

Ali makes me laugh when I see her on Le Q with Will ( which is very rare for me nowadays). I saw her whipping round pedestals with Decleor Fiona, a woman with some Philosophy stuff and a man I recognised flogging an electric make up brush when the football was on the other night . Ali is full on ‘what you see is what you get’ and I admire her tenacity.
I know that Will is her "tech man" but I personally prefer shows where iPads, Twitter and Facebook aren't mentioned or used. They pride themselves on being the biggest online department store, but if shop assistants (which is technically what the presenters are) started Tweeting or looking at their iPads all the time they'd be given their P45s.
Ali is one of the more knowledgeable presenters so doesn't need a sidekick, in my opinion.

I agree about all the techie stuff. On the Craft Channels you sometimes get a card or whatever if your email is drawn at the end of the show. Kanban Keith ( don’t ask!) made me laugh out loud as he is giving out postcards with his pic and autograph on them alongside his cards to be like Banksy he said. Loen said but nobody knows who Banksy is which is why his art is worth such a lot whereas you have your picture on this Keith.
