Since the BBC ruined Agatha Christie’s books with plot changes like altering the murderer I have been wary of watching adaptations so it ’s fingers crossed Andrew Davies doesn’t absolutely spoil it for me. Unfinished by Jane due to her death, I read the chapters she had completed whilst studying 19th Century Literature as part of my teaching course. I really liked the heroine , much more Catherine Morland than Fanny Price.I have also come across various versions finished by other writers but the best is the fabulous Andy Dalziel/ Peter Pascoe murder version by Reginald Hill , “A Cure For All Diseases ” in which Fat Andy is recovering after an attempt to blow him up at the Avalon Clinic in Sandytown. The other characters in the book are named after Jane Austen’s in Sanditon. Give it a go!
