This is depressing news, and I witnessed it yesterday at Saltburn just under the water as we walked on the pier. The tide was out today and revealed thousands of washed up razorclams, all dead obvs. It's happened before, die-offs caused by toxic waste dumped out at sea. Crabs, mussels, cockles, lobsters, starfish (I saw a dead one of those further up the beach - very poisonous so I kept H away), even the seal pups up the coast at Teesmouth have gone.
It is a good idea, how the hell to they do it though without getting gored
Many of the reindeer are farmed, a bit like sheep that are let out onto the moors in this country. I suppose these deer are used to being handled, unless they tranquilise them. I'll have to look into it further.
Been waiting ages for one of these to show up, Aislaby village and around the Park 'n' Ride site is the usual haunt, but today I caught one of the buggers in Glaisdale (and hope I don't get reported for taking photos down someone's driveway).
