Thanks DD, I did look on Q's website but they don't have any at the moment. I checked the weight and it's actually 0.5kg lighter than the DC35, probably because it doesn't have the metal wand. I can't use the Dyson above shoulder height either and like you, use a feather duster and then suck up anything that drops from ground level lol. It's the corners, skirtings and nooky cranny bits that concern me. What is the capacity of the bin?
I had a look on their website and it doesn't say what it's capacity is and as the filter is in the middle I doubt it's a lot, I don't find I have to empty it that often as it's mainly used for crevices and upholstery so it really doesn't need to be that big.
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong

I have the Dyson Cordless to accompany my AirRam and it is better than the Gtech multi for the variety of tools and long/short variations you can do. When going upstairs I have it the long version and use it like a ski pole.
Can't say I'm overly impressed by the GTech multi. It is heavy and I find it difficult to keep my thumb on the on/off button when it's in use. I imagine they do that to save power but it annoys me.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
Wait wait!! I don't want the multi do I? I just want the ordinary doofer? I want it as a second Hoover. Carpets and floors really. But I would like to do the stairs once in a blue moon too. Is that possible with the upright. I am spectacularly rubbish at doing my own research btw.
I've just got the 'ordinary' AirRam. Since buying it, my Oreck has stayed in the cupboard. I do my stairs with the AirRam so you should be able to as well, Tinks. (But don't sue me if you can't. )
Hi Tinks I've got just the standard GTech Air Ram and have been very pleased with it. It kinds of self propels itself forwards on vinyl / tiles and wooden parquet floors but sometimes tends to put the brakes on on deep pile carpet. I don't why there is sometimes some resistance on carpets, so I switch it off and try again. But on smooth floors it's very good, a charge lasts a good time and it doesn't take hours and hours like their cordless carpet sweepers do.

You can use the AirRam on the stairs, just remember it doesn't have on board tools. I would start off with the AirRam and see how you like it. I am sure you will love it.
I can't do stairs with the Air Ram and I've found it does favour some carpets over others, not necessarily to do with the depth of the pile, but I wouldn't be without it. Its weight and size belie its power.
