I see a lot in that. It is all melancholy. And the emotions are raw and easy to analyze.
What is being felt is growing from the eyes and it is strong or has a strong drive to not give up, but something in it has to fly away (bird explanation.) There are dark weeds and no flowers, only dark roots from the time that she tried. The art is showing the piece as having tried, tried harder, but was hurt. Possibly a failed goal, project, or relationship gone wrong. Something she thought would work out but it is shown as, --only growing darker over time, so she had no choice but to fly away. And obviously the tears.
