I put the screen cover on last night and despite the fact that we had a frost forecast, the car and cover were frost free this morning. So working on the logic that if I put the cover on it stays above zero, I've just put it on again in readiness for tonight.
Keep doing it Toril. We are depending on you!
Well ................ ice cover was on and car was frost free again. (I'm doing my best, folks )
But, tomorrow is my day off so I've not put the screen cover on today .............. so wrap up warm because it's bound to be frosty tonight.
The heating in my office isn't working. Its just the upstairs. One of the others complained last week. I emailed the landlord yesterday and he finally jollies himself along this afternoon to say he thinks the radiators need bleeding. Well carry on boyo, don't wait on my account.
Somehow there isn't a radiator key in the ruddy building and because the traffic is murder he says he will back in morning. Erm no you won't. You will sit in traffic for however long it takes and you will get back here tonight.
By the time he gets here tomorrow and finally cranks up the heating it'll be midday at the earliest before the offices are warm. And what if it's more than just bleeding the radiators.
I'm technically OK as I have a fan heater I brought from my old office but none of the others have any heating at all.
Britain to be lashed by tail-end of Atlantic 'weather bomb': Forecasters issue snow and ice warnings for most of UK ahead of 80mph storm that will lash coast with 50ft waves
Tonight will be week's coldest night, with temperatures dropping to -4C, and 80mph gusts are expected this week
The trouble is I have underfloor heating which is directly controlled by the heat setting on the radiators in the office behind me. They are clearly delicate hot house flowers.
I went to work today wearing a long sleeved top under a sleeveless dress with a cardi on top and a scarf. By 10am I had ditched the cardi and scarf. By 11 am I had gone to the loo to ditch the long sleeved top and by lunch time I was sat in my office, in December, with the temperature a few degrees above freezing outside, in a sleeveless frock with the bloody window open!!
