Can I put up my favourite decorations? I bloody love these lights. I have had them for about 20 years. I shall be an upset bunny if they give up the ghost. I have had them rewired so they have a long length from the plug to where the lights start and they are also on continuous loop of wire so they drape round my kitchen window and bookshelf perfectly.
They were bought from Heals originally. I love them!!
They come out for Christmas and sometimes in the summer if I have people round.
I do like chillies. I grow them and make my own chilli powder and tomato and chilli jam.
I'm not quite sure why they amuse me quite so much. I think there is something very "right" about having them in the kitchen. I have put then outside but they actually look best in the kitchen.
I'm often tempted to leave them out all year round to be honest.
I love seeing lights in folks' gardens or on their houses, it really cheers up these early dark evenings.
My DD got their decs and outside lighting set up at the weekend and it all looked very nice when we saw it yesterday. One thing she had outside the front door was a net of lights covering a nearby shrub, it looked very effective sparkling in that bright blue colour.
We've spent the best part of the day putting up the tree and various bits and bobs around the house. The garland around the hearth, another up the banisters, some little critters on the window sills.
We try to buy a Christmas ornament from places we visit, and as we've just got back from San Francisco, the tree now has a trolley bus ornament, keeping the cowboy boots from Texas, the harlequin mask from New Orleans, the hand blown glass bauble from Germany and the carved wooden angel from Israel company. I'm afraid I'm not one of those people who does themes, I just lob everything at the tree and hope for the best.
