Following on from the eyebrow thread, I thought I'd post an update on the Boots Fanomenal Eyelash serum.
I'd had eyelash extensions for 5 years, so when the last lot had all come off, I decided to have a rest. My eyelashes were quite sparse, and very short.
I've tried other lash serums before, and couldn't actually say I'd noticed any difference. I've been using the No7 serum for 5 weeks now, and I can honestly say I've seen results. They say 8 weeks before you may see results, but I can already see that I have more lashes, whether this is from the serum, or simply from stopping the extensions I can't be sure, and I do think my lashes look longer. I'm not expecting to have spider leg lashes, because mine have always been stumpy, but they're definitely looking better.
I'm also using Max Factor 2000 Calorie mascara with the curved brush, and I'm getting good results from that too.
So, I'm going to carry on using the serum (I got Buy 1, get the 2nd half price), and I'll update again in a few more weeks.
That sounds a good result Cog. Mine are short but I'm too nervous the coat them with a growth enhancer. I will use it on my brows though & I've had good results. Give it the 8 weeks as they suggest and who knows, they could be much longer again.
That sounds like a wonderful result Cog. I'm sorely tempted as I have sparse eyelashes and eyebrows but am intrigued to know why Mim is nervous about it? have you read something bad?
The Max Factor 2000 Calorie mascara is miraculous - pretty certain it was Tinks who recommended it to me after Tova's mascara formula changed.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
In 2010 my eyes were playing me up silly, constantly watering & itching and the eyeball itself was pink. The skin beneath my eyes was constantly sore & red and my eyebags became suitcases. I asked a pharmacist for something to help & she suggested I saw an optician rather than my GP. My optician Sharon was fantastic. She told me I had an allergy to something. She could tell not just because of the symptoms I was already aware of but my eyelids had actually thickened, something that had not registered with me. Sharon wrote a letter for me to take to my GP suggesting specific drops & tablets and told me to come back each month so she could monitor my progress - all free of charge I might add. That all helped but didn't solve the problem. To cut a long story short, it took months to find out what I was allergic to. It was trial & error. Turned out it was Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) a surfucant or foaming cleansing agent found in foaming face washes, bath & hair products and toothpaste. For a long time I was wary of any product I put on my skin or hair. I'm getting a bit more adventurous but still need to avoid SLS and certain essential oils like lavender. Now I avoid anything highly perfumed. To put something so close to my eyes as an eyelash enhancer - well, I'm just scared.
I know you have to be careful Min. Sounds awful. Glad you know what's what now and can find products that suit your skin.
Mine is pretty tough fortunately. I've only had a couple of bad patches in my entire life.
Yep Nellie. May well have been me. I've been using it for about 20 years I think. I went for a facial years ago and the therapist commented on how good my mascara was as she could obviously see my lashes with it on and then without. I'm going to try the waterproof one for my holibobs.
I bought the mascara in Costco, 3 tubes for £10 something, I should've bought more.
I would say try it Nellie, I have to admit to being sceptical, but I've definitely got more eyelashes now. I think it was about £17, so not a mega investment if it doesn't work.
Well, nearly 4 months on, and although I don't have spiders legs eyelashes, I definitely think they're more plentiful and stronger, they don't seem to be shedding like they used to.
All in all, I'm happy with the results and will keep on using them.
I have just seen this thread - still finding my feet on here.
Cog, I have been using this eyelash serum too. I bought Revitalash from QVC back in the day and got really good results but it's too expensive for me to use long-term. I thought I would try the No7 one thinking it would not be much good but I am really pleased with it.
The only problem I have is that I forget to use it! I would probably see better results if I used it every day. I bought the Max Factor 2000 calorie mascara but I hated it. I much prefer Max Factor false lash effect.
