A wave of handy clothes dryers using to heat to get your clothes toasty and dry have hit the market. Never hang your knickers on the radiator again with the Peko ETS-1700E dries ten shirts in only 30 minutes or the DriBuddi, which uses vortex action to blitz creases, drying clothes smoothly.
Now funny enough I saw the one from Lakeland in their flyer recently and thought it was a darned good idea. The shelved on. I hate using a tumble drier. And for some things you just can't anyway.
We have two tumble driers. When I need to wear my best black shirt and trousers, instead of ironing I give them ten minutes which gets out most of any creases plus they are warm if you want to put them on straight away.
I tried four pairs of school trousers for my 13-year-old twin sons, five of the children's onesies and eight work shirts for my husband, Ray. The dryer made a gentle hum. After two hours the shirts were dry, uncreased and beautifully soft. No more shirts like cardboard for my husband.
The children loved their toasty pyjamas, but the school trousers took three hours to dry - no good for mums in a hurry.
Three hours sounds way too much time. Who remembers the old days when you dressed in the morning for school in a freezing cold lounge with your clothes on a clothes horse next to an electric three bar fire?

Our tumble drier is in the garage and used for duvet covers and towels in the rainy season or deepest winter. I bought an electric airer from Aldi but it isn't tall enough for sheets etc. Mainly use the overhead in the kitchen which I replaced earlier this year after some disasters with the one I bought from Wilko with one recommended by Tinks. Mr FP complained at the price but hasn't had to rescue me from under piles of collapsed washing... yet.
Not sure where I would put one of those - my radiators are already in place and it doesn't cost any more to run them with my knickers on!!
I really miss my tumble dryer. It went kaput a couple of years ago and I couldn't afford to replace it. Now, even if I could, Mr EB has taken over the space in the garage where it used to live so there is nowhere to put one. I use radiators, bannisters and a rack over the bath. Great fun when trying to dry double bedding but ok for my knickers!
I actually don't have radiators but I do have a 5 line dryer in the spare room/office. One that runs wall to wall. I do have a washer/dryer but things get creased if you're not on the ball to take them out and I just prefer air dried clothes if I can get them.
I can cope with just my line but I'm tempted by the Lakeland one.
I recently bought two clothes horses from The Range - much cheaper than anywhere else - and they hold almost a full machine load each. No heating aspect to them but under £20 for two.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.

I wouldn't be hanging mine on a line.
But I picked out the word "run" there which reminded me of a product called Colour Run as one time I ended up with pink pants because red ones mixed with white.
I don't think it worked very well at all. They stayed in a bucket for hours but were never the same again.

There are two different products AF- one you put in with your washload and it attracts colour that has 'leaked' to it , this is highly recommended by me as Mr FP has a tendency to chuck things that 'run' into the wash basket without telling me and the other product which you are supposed to use to remove the accidents. That is totally useless. On one occasion Mr FP added a banned T-shirt without warning and it turned all my lingerie, his towelling socks and the teatowels pink . He is more thoughtful now about telling me when he has put dangerous clothes in as he did not like wearing pink socks.
I iron my bedding straight from the machine on my Domena press, then hang them over the banisters to finish drying. I do like my towels tumble dried to make them fluffy.

I'm more indifferent now about pink. I have a pink Slazenger t-shirt. And my cartoon hero has always been the Pink Panther. But the Colour Run came in a red box which had a sachet of powder which you mixed with water, put in the garment and waited for whatever time it was. I remember that nothing really came out as it was but it did improve things somewhat, like if the item was white it would kind of be white again but there would be some visible blemishes.
