Ive already started buying a few non perishable Christmas bits. ms Coglet absolutely loves Lidls mini stollen. We took 2 packs over recently, and she emailed to said that the Coglet had scoffed them all!
I've been picking up a few bits & bobs as well @incognito. The Christmas chocolate coins have been spent already unfortunately, but the chocolate balls are hidden & just might make it to December. Next time I go to Lidl or Aldi I plan to buy a few bottles of this or that.

Ooo I love stollen!!
Me too! I'll take Stollen over Mince Pies any day.
Spurred on by this thread I've ordered the goose. My Christmas lunch though will not be coming in on either budget mentioned in the article. The goose alone is £75 but it is tradition for us and we do all love it. Baby Tink looks at my like I've gone made if I suggest an alternative. But it was me who started the tradition really. I've only eaten turkey at Christmas once or twice in my 50 plus years.
