My hair is in a pickle. I think its reacting to either me being illl or the drugs I'm taking. My hair is naturally wavy ... think growing out 80s perm ... but normally I can control the waves by blow drying it. Right now it makes no difference if I blow dry it or not, its always wavy and slightly frizzy.
I look like I'm permanently just back from the beach.
Am heading to see my hairdresser next Weds to may be get a trim or have a treatment.

My hairdresser steered me towards Royal Moraccan Moisturising Style Creme and the bottle is still going after 10 months- you need a pea sized or smaller amount. For me easier to control than an oil. My Dad used to use vitapointe - don't know if it is still made.
This stuff is brilliant as a leave-in conditioner, anti-frizz serum, styling product - does just about everything really. It's light, non greasy and has tamed my hair over the last few months.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Vitapointe ... ooo that smelt lovely. I remember that.
I've been slapping on a bit of moroccan hair oil and its calmed it down a bit. In going to change my shampoo and conditioner back to the Tigi to see if that helps. I've ordered them but they haven't arrived yet
And maybe my hairdresser will suggest a treatment. She also couldn't cut my hair properly last time as I couldn't tip my head back or forward so she had to do a sort of dry cut so she's worried that the cut may not be helping. That's not her fault. She did the best she could with the limitations I had.
It does feel a bit better anyway. I'm washing it later so hopefully it'll be a bit calmer.

I am sure you will feel better when you have tamed it again. I know if I am not happy with my hair I am grumpy. If you find you aren't as happy with your Tigi have a go with some Aveda's Smooth Infusion which I think is for your hair type. I know it's pricey but I can't be without Aveda.
Has anyone any suggestions for a shampoo or conditioner that would help dry hair, without leaving it looking lank and 'oiled up?'
I had about 3 inches taken off the length about a month ago and it's now shoulder length and I wear it loose, rather than tied back as I did when it was down my back. I have just started using straighteners on it, but only after I've been out in damp weather because I develop waves in it and I prefer it straight. The ends were dry before I started using the straighteners though.
It could be linked with the recent diagnosis of an underactive thyroid because, up until a year ago, I never had any issue with my hair. The serums that Mim (I think - but am not sure without looking back through the threads on here) suggested from Rapishlash and Rapidbrow have meant that my eyebrows and lashes are back to normal, but my head hair is still dry at the ends. I'm blonde so it looks like straw but I've never dyed it so can't blame it on the overuse of hair tints etc.
Ideally, I want to find a shampoo and/or conditioner that will do the job rather than faddling around leaving products in my hair before washing them out.
The stuff I've mentioned earlier in this thread is well worth trying Toril - I can't believe what a difference it has made to my hair in the last couple of months. I only wish it had been around years ago.
I wash my hair, don't use conditioner but squirt some of this onto towel-dried hair, comb it through and dry as usual. It is conditioning, protects from damp, is non greasy and light, is fine to use with straighteners or hairdryer, leaves my hair feeling soft & silky and smells divine!
My hairdresser recommended it* and says it is the only thing she uses apart from shampoo - she has bleached blonde hair that is in beautiful condition.
* I've not seen her use it on anyone else so I can only assume she doesn't employ any hard sell techniques on her customers.

Well I'm back having to fight for the drugs I take that amongst other things help with my female pattern baldness. Its really thinning rather than baldness but bloody hell. I have this fight every couple of years. We dance round it and eventually a new prescription is raised.
This time though I'm back to see a consultant. What with everything else I've spent more time at my GPs surgery in the past couple of months than I have in all my bloody days.
Oh and talking of bloods. I have to go back for blood tests before they can issue another prescription. Erm so what were the blood tests I had in August and September for then? Oh they weren't the right blood tests. But they were to check everything was OK with my prescriptions weren't they? Yes but they didn't do this particular one. Flying heck!! Back I go again.

Hope you like it Toril. Please let us know how you get on - good or bad.
I asked my hairdresser just last week if I should use a clarifying shampoo occasionally to get rid of any product build up and she said it wasn't necessary as this stuff is organic. I'm not sure how true that is but it doesn't feel as if it would be necessary.
