Our suitcases are very manky looking. It would be nice to get a couple of new ones. Saying that I probably would not buy from QVC anyway but when they first had the Amanda Lamb shows there were some very nice things.
We've bought our last two set of suitcases from Samsonite. We changed our traditional shaped one for upright rollers which are so much easier to manage. The big ones are shocking pink, and the slightly smaller ones are lime green. We got them for really good prices at the outlet shop.
As we travel to the US a fair bit to visit the Coglet, and you're not allowed to lock your cases, they have TSA approved combi locks. I've never understood how it can be safer to leave your cases unlocked
As Sacha will confirm, it's a good idea to get really bright cases if you're going on a cruise, because the morning you disembark, trying to find black/grey/blue cases in a sea of them in the luggage hall is a nightmare. We can always spot ours immediately because they stand out like beacons [
Thanks Cog. I love that pink one and it's such a good idea to get a colour that stands out from the rest of them. We don't have an outlet here unfortunately.
Sacha we are going to Lanzarote which is my favourite place. It's our first holiday in 6 years so I am very excited. It will be very hot, the beach and boardwalk at the resort are beautiful and I can't wait.
That's a shame you've no outlets near you. People always think they're going to be heavy, but they're made out of the same stuff as car bumpers so are quite light and very durable. Our old cases had been all over the world with us, and had really stood the test of time. We only changed them because the spinners are easier for us now. I do think it's worth buying decent luggage because we really had our money's worth out of the old ones and they still had years of life let in them.

My daughter had an enjoyable holiday in Lanzarote with the young uns, but have never been there myself. However, we are doing a one day visit in late spring which I'm looking forward to. So I'll be interested in hearing much more about the island on your return @itchy.
It's very quiet there Sacha especially Matagorda where we are going. We had a week there 6 years ago and it was a disaster, not because of the place but me getting grief from members of my family at home (not my children). The whole thing was a waste of money.
OH and I are not great explorers - we are just happy lazing by the pool and paddling in the sea, having nice meals, reading books and basically dossing around! I can't see myself writing any tourist guides afterwards lol!
OH got in from work and on hearing that I would be buying new suitcases he said that ours were fine and did we need new ones?!
As I had literally just served his dinner there was no chance of me holding the plate over the bin and asking him to repeat that!
I told him to go up to the loft at the weekend and inspect the old ones. I am sure he will agree with me or he might have to find someone else to walk hand in hand with on the beach.
