If anyone was considering one they've brought out a new Gtech Multi with 30% more power and and a motorised brush head it's £149 with free delivery from Gtech
I bought this with the upright and got it for a discount price, it is great much better than the original one ,my mum has that one and thinks mine is much better
The video's not been updates but on the clip of TV advert it has a note saying the motorised head replaces the upholstery head so I'd guess it would but you'd probably have to remove the extending tube to fit it but as with all assessories I expect it'd be expensive. I quite like the look of the car kit but I wouldn't pay £49.95 for it!
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong

Ah so does yours still have the extending tube then Gibby?

Not having to hold the button to keep it on is the one improvement I'd have asked for, does yours also have the concertina tubing or has that been removed Gibby?

I don't need the hand held one but I have a ghastly feeling that I'm may have to replace my upright one in the next few months. :( It works beautifully but my 'hoovering' is often accompanied by a strange 'eggy' smell (not ideal) so I am hoping nothing is about to burn out. I regularly remove long blonde hair from the brushes (I must have taken enough out to make a dozen wigs over the months) and regularly clean the filters ........ so what the smell is, is a mystery.
If anyone sees a GTech on offer then please post it here, although I probably would pay full price, if I had to, because it's such a great machine.

Mine was making a worrying rattling sound so I gave it a deep clean and embedded in the hair in the brushes was part of a plastic tie that they attach to socks. I would replace mine in the blink of an eye if it gave up on me. Even Mr FP has been known to comment on its efficiency.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if necessary but mine isn't getting much use at the moment - too much fluff coming off the new carpets for it to handle.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.

I initially thought it was the drains, but realised that it was coming from the Gtech because the delightful aroma followed me round the house. At least if it does explode I won't be plugged into the mains.
I will admit that, when I upended it, there was a heck of a lot of hair wrapped round the brushes (I'm surprised I'm not bald ) and, since I sorted all that, out the smell isn't quite as obvious so maybe that's what was causing it. I obviously need to de-hair it more regularly.
I do have an Oreck and 3 other kinds of vacuum cleaner and so if the Gtech blew up I could at least hoover until the replacement came. But I can honestly say that none of my other ones have come out of the cupboard since I got the AirRam, so it will definitely be replaced ......... pronto!
