I have the TV on virtually all the time, it's a living alone thing for me.
I'm usually pottering or online, just like it on in the background. I like a good movie, record virtually everything and when I realise the disc is getting full I have a series "cram". I just watched Peaky Blinders, a happy little tale of everyday country folk! And now I'm cramming Missing as it ends this week. Still got loads from the summer.

I do as well or, failing that, the radio, but I turn it off when the family or friends arrive because the TV just waffles on to itself while we chat. When the house is quiet again, the recorder comes in to play when I can watch things I like without any interruptions (hopefully )
I learnt last night, from an old episode of University Challenge, that what we all seem to do is called "binge-watching" - an expression that made it into the OED last year!
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
