Email today from my vet. One of those round robin, catch all jobs. Bring your cat in for a dental check up, scale and polish.
My cats have six teeth between them!! Six! The check up is free apparently. Just as well because I'd be wanting a bloody discount if it wasn't. And I won't be paying full price for a scale and polish either.
Clearly a bit of a mid-week marketing bugger up.
And to add insult to injury I'm pretty certain the picture they're using of a cat with gum disease is Alf!! They have my permission to use the pictures by the way but wouldn't you think that fact alone would have made them think twice before sending it to me.
My late MiL had no teeth but it didn't stop her eating anything. She just used to suck and chomp everything to oblivion whilst gurning. Put me off my Christmas dinner I can tell you.
Just after he had his first lot of teeth out, I gave them prawns. He brought me a whole prawn and plonked it at my feet. Took me a few seconds to work out what he wanted but when I picked up his bowl he hadn't been able to eat many at all. Mind you he was smart enough to wait until his brother had eaten his and buggered off before he left the prawns unguarded. I now cut up the prawns.
Other than that he can eat anything you shove at him. It's really only if the good is too big that he struggled.
I have to say Alf is really very clever. He knows how to get what he wants.
