Mr Tink is an AV technician. He despairs at my refusal to get a bigger TV, an HD TV, a sound bar or any of the whizzy latest technology. Honestly I can't be bothered. I'm not the biggest TV fan anyway but what the hell do I want a bigger screen for. My eyesight isn't failing ... yet.
Bigger TV's does seem to be the norm these days. I wanted to get my sister a replacement TV for the one in her bedroom for Christmas last year and had the devil of a job finding one under 28" she had a 17-18" which was an ideal size but the smallest I could get was a 22"
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong
We bought a 32" a few years ago and that seemed big then. They seem to jump from 32" to 40" nowadays. 25 and partner bought a large screen when they set up house and it dominates their room. It's too close/ big so that I also find my eyes moving around the screen, not able to take it all in. Himself has offered to swop, to help them out like, but they'll have none of it.
We have a cute TV in the bedroom. It has a built in DVD player. The idea was that I could escape there and watch my Midsomer Murders DVDs in peace without anyone annoying me. It never worked out like that unfortunately.

Our boys keep telling us how naff our telly is but until it breaks it suits us even though it is small, has a line for the first couple of minutes on switch on and has dark flashes.
I don't have a TV in my bedroom. The TV in my lounge is second hand but I do have a new 27 inch in the spare room/home office. The TV in my lounge is probably a 32 inch.
Mr Tink despairs of me. If the lounge one goes phut I shall probably replace with a similar one to the one upstairs. The sound on it is iffy sometimes but works mostly. But really. These large TVs are so expensive. And for what? Same picture. I cannot personally tell the difference between HD and normal TV. I only own about half a dozen DVDs. It would be a waste of money on me. I could easily spend it on shoes or handbags instead!
I don't have a TV in my bedroom either and wouldn't want one. Whenever I stay in a hotel and there's a TV in the room I have no discipline whatsoever with regards to putting the light out. When I'm home I listen to the radio for a while and then turn it off, crash out and sleep like a log as it's less of a stimulus.
When I moved here I bought a 32" TV but when that met an early grave I bought a 39" one. To be honest, it doesn't look a lot bigger because the surround is a lot thinner than the old one but, more importantly, it doesn't dominate the lounge. It does have HD but as I don't often watch DVDs it wouldn't have mattered if it didn't have.
I do have a large lounge but I wouldn't want a TV the size of the TSV because it would be like being at the cinema so I'd have to buy shares in a popcorn company.
OH would love a 42" (OK, OK, you know what I mean!!)
The TV in the sitting room is 32" and there is another one in the den. That one is a much better quality TV than the one in here but that is the boys hangout and 25 considers it his private sitting room.
