The dilemma of whether or not to have another cat before Millie has gone, has been in my head for 14 months now. I miss Jasper so much, so when my SD's mum said yesterday her cat recently had 5 kittens and there was a black & white one, that was it. Not the best time for me to have a new kitten but I'm feeling quite excited!
Good luck with it Frazz. We had two overlap cats so to speak & the elderly cat on both occasions was put out. Each cat is different though so Millie might be fine.
That is a bit extreme. Howell just hissed a Katie who wanted to be his friend. Years later Katie hissed and fought with Meg. Meg never did learn to keep away. On the plus side we did take in Eve who was similar in colouring to Meg & they were the best of friends probably because there was not much of an age gap. They both went outside one October night and Eve never came back. I don't think Meg did anything to her
Aww that's lovely news. When I was a kid we always had stray cats turning up ... people regularly dump unwanted cats near farms ... and there was never a problem with the new one being accepted.
I failed miserably years ago to introduce two kittens from different litters even though they arrived within a couple of weeks of each other. One completely terrorised the other so we has to take the wee one back and keep the thug. That's very unusual in my experience though.
I seriously don't think I could introduce another cat to Alf though. He's such a bossy boots. Poor old Harvey cops its regularly and he LOVES Harvey really lol
