Not sure if it was the same episode I was watching earlier today, the man up to his neck in bugs and fish guts caused me to change channels! It's on again at 4pm I'll give it another go lol!
I like reptiles, and although I don't like creepy-crawlies but I'm not comfortable with either being used like that to be honest.
I didn't realise Larry Lamb was there? Rather like Larry.
According to which reports you read, Larry the Lamb was either a bullying, control freak or a much respected father figure for the whole group and Martin Roberts (who?) was either the victim of this bullying campaign or an irritating little wimp - and neither, or both, should have been voted out.
Who to believe? Would Liv or Toril care to enlighten us please?
To be honest, I think a few of them found Martin irritating initially but they rallied round him when Larry had a bit of a go at him about suggesting they drew straws to decide on something. Larry inferred that Martin was an attention seeker. They did eventually decide to draw straws after some discussion. It was all a bit petty to be honest. Larry was the father figure in the group but that was to be expected as he was the eldest and is a dad in real life.
Both Larry and Martin are now back in the real world, having been voted out, and the four 'youngsters' are left. Martin is the guy who presents 'Homes under the hammer.'
Who to believe? Would Liv or Toril care to enlighten us please?
Martin came late into the camp -always a disadvantage I think- and was an attention seeking show off from the start in my view. That doesn't mean he was a bad person, but he was irritating & I can understand that when you are all penned in like that it would get to you. He was a bit of a nag, "I'm not eating rice & beans" "I can't eat rice & beans" "Who wants my rice & beans?" He's gone to the papers now with his story of how he was bullied. I didn't register that at all, but then again we only see edited highlights.
As Toril says, there was the silliness about drawing straws, but there were also incidences when Martin seemed to take pleasure in not co-operating. He didn't fetch water when that was his task, he ignored Scarlet when she was camp president. At one point the camp was split - 4 royals & the rest were servants. Martin was a King and took great delight in using the camp telephone to make the servants run back and fore between camps just for the sake of it to do his bidding. When he lost his place he was obnoxious.
He plotted to camera & he tipped water all over Adam & his bed, pretending to trip up in a silly prank. I think he was one of those people who could dish it out but ...Larry on the other hand seemed to be loved by everyone.
I think I saw about ten minutes of this series and that Martin one was bloody annoying.
He seemed to think no one liked him and was making a right fuss about it. Some others had to come and console him when he started blubbing like a gurl. I don't think he lasted long after that the big wuss.
You'd think by now that if they sign up for a stint on this, people would know what they were letting themselves in for!
I haven't watched it for some years but my overwhelming memory is that the most unexpected people turn out to be the most likeable - Martina Navratilova, David Gest and George Takei for instance.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
My friend's husband has been an editor on I'm a Celeb in the past. He says what is shown and reality are often two very different things. He can pick up on the smallest personality trait or spat and turn it into something it really isn't.
