Despite the name, the dish did not originate in Wales. The English used the word “Welsh” to mean “foreign”. Another theory claims that the dish was distributed to the Welsh because they were considered fond of cheese.

Our cats have all been feral and here, cats tend to have litters in March, so all our cat's birthdays are celebrated on March 21st, first day of spring. It saves confusion/arguments/jealousy. They know it as 'Annual Tinned Tuna Day"
