I recently ordered some linen trousers for my Mum from the above company using their order line number
It took 8 minutes in all and Ive just checked my phone charges and the call cost me £4.80
I have just looked again at their website and it states calls at 13p per minute (high enough I think) but it also then says "plus your phone company's access charge"
Its obviously my own fault as I didn't read this at the time but I use countless companies for online shopping and non of them adopt this practice if you call rather than place an order on line

My mobile phone package does not include any texting to my sister's german phone so in spite of the fact I will be nowhere near my limit I know I will get a surcharge this month due to texting this weekend. We usually Skype as it is free.
That is so out of order isn't it, didn't Ideal World do a similar thing a few years ago?
I ordered a couple of bras from J.D.W. last year. You had to open an account even if you were paying the full amount, which was annoying enough. I had to send them back which went fine, but for weeks afterwards I was bombarded with their junk mail I couldn't opt out of and kept receiving catalogues! I had to ring them to close the account and stop it all, I gave them my valuable customer input at the same time. !
I had exactly the same problem when I ordered a Christmas present from JDW that I couldn't get anywhere else, not only was I bombard with dozens and dozens of emails from them but from about 10 other companies too! Every morning I'd open my emails and there'd be 30 or 40 junk emails them and the others, it went on for weeks until I spotted at the bottom of the email in tiny, tiny script there was an unsubscribe option which I clicked, I had to repeat that for each company but thankfully it worked, I'll never buy from them again
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong
However, I seem to recall Lil had an issue with them too.
Twice OH has had letters from JDW demanding payment goods he had never even ordered - He has such a common name - both times numerous phone calls ensued and he demanded, on both occasions, a letter stating he was not the person concerned.
It would never have occurred to me that a call to buy a pair of trousers would cost that bloody much. Even if it was a call I knew I would be charged for.
I presume they do it to deter people from calling. Keeping their staffing costs to a minimum. Barstewards.
