Well it won't make a blind bit of difference in Cornwall. As far as I know there isn't a single Greggs in Cornwall. Too many local bakers and pasty shops.
I don't mind home made pies but Gregg's (and any make really) slices, sausage rolls and so forth, bleargh! Never liked 'em. I won't be queueing, disguised or otherwise!
^^ Gregg's sausage rolls are delicious. They sell them in Iceland to bake at home, I've mentioned this to Mrs M on numerous occasions but she says they're bad for you.
All this talk of pies and pasties has made me wonder if egg and bacon pie is just a Cornish thing. Shortcrust pastry crust. Browned chopped onions and cubes of bacon on the bottom. Then you crack eggs and put them whole into the pie with more bacon and onions on the top. Salt, pepper and a bit of parsley then a pastry top. Eaten hot or cold. Lovely.
