On the subject of baked beans, I find Heinz have got a bit bland of late and was wondering about trying Branston's. Anyone ever had them?
Heinz beans eh? How posh!
Branston's are fine as I recall, but we usually have either Lidl or Aldi own brand, being paupers and all that. One is almost as good as Heinz while the other is rank, can't remember which though and we haven't even got a can in to check.
Avoid Morisson's own brand beans, and their mushy peas too.
Mr EB buys Branston beans and likes them very much. I hate them and would rather have Tesco value or Lidl. I only ever eat baked beans in a bowl with cubes of buttered toast stirred in and a sprinkle of parmesan and black pepper. Mr EB eats them with pretty much everything so his might be the more reliable opinion!
Now corned beef leads me to beef hash (not made with corned beef in my case)
Don't tell me, fillet steak hash then.... I bet Harvey likes a bit of that too.
No. Made with minced beef. I've never made it with corned beef.
I actually wouldn't be able to guarantee Harvey would eat fillet steak even if I gave it to him. Alfie would. He'd eat the beef hash and the baked beans. Harvey really only eats cat food, white fish and prawns.
Mind you it is fillet steak for dinner later. Having a treat. And for what I've paid it had better be bloody good.
Good grief - I'm becoming more like Mr. M. than I realised. He wouldn't have washed his car today and neither did I, and now I find out that he eats his beans the same way that I do. All I need to do now is to learn to drive a bus. 😜
