Cleansing when you've got a cold sore is a pain in the tail. The cleansers I use (Elemis balm and C&P) are difficult to use as you have to avoid the area altogether so I often use wipes for a few days or a water based cleanser with cotton wool. When this latest monstrosity arrived I had neither but my friend had offered to get anything I needed so I asked her to get me the micellar water from Superdrug as a stop gap. Review here. www.barebeginnings.co.uk/beauty-2/b-pure-micellar-water-at-superdrug/. The Superdrug site isn't working at the mo.
I'm amazed at how good it is at shifting makeup and how much grubbiness it removes from my skin. Its perfect as I can work round the cold sore really easily. And it doesn't feel too much of a compromise to use. It makes a nice change. Worth a try and not too much of a whack in the wallet.
Fortunately my skin is like rhino hide normally so I don't have to worry about ingredients. I just wanted a quick fix solution. I'm sure there are better options out there but I'm definitely impressed by the concept.

Will do. I will be interested to see how good it is on make up. Currently I am using the Boots Botanical wipes because I can't be bothered with face cloths/muslin cloths etc and am using my Magnitone brush with LP Skin Therapy cleanser in the shower first thing.
I've been seriously impressed with how much it takes off. I don't consider that I wear THAT much makeup but the cotton wool pads would suggest otherwise.
I've been using it for over a week and I really don't think my skin has suffered at all and often when I'm not well it shows in my skin. I get dry patches and it can look dull and I feel the need to pile on the moisturiser. I definitely don't feel like that. I will go back to my preferred cleansers but this is a great option.
I went to the largest branch of Superdrug I could find and it's clear that this is popular stuff because most of the shelves had been cleared. The only one left that I liked the look of is by L'Oreal and is for sensitive skin - not had problems with their products in the past so fingers crossed - £4.99 for 200 ml.
