I would not be happy if mine did that! I did have trouble with the graveled area on the new driveway, but topping with larger slate chippings resolved that. They still use the new bed areas occasionally, but that will stop once planted over this year. I've found the gel repellant effective at deterring them in the meantime, but it needs to be done regularly so would be expensive to do long term.
Re the WD40 tips. I had a man out a while back to re-fit a door for me and he advised using furniture polish (spray) rather than WD40, as it's effects are better and longer lasting.
He also advised spraying all window joints with the same to prolong their life and prevent against rust (important here next to the Atlantic) when they get wet a lot.
Having said all that i've just been to the kitchen and sprayed a squeaky tap with WD40
That gives me an idea @missty, Mrs M has asked me to do some furniture polishing tomorrow. I shall use WD40, working on my theory that if I screw the job up I shan't be asked to do it again.
They are both neutered females. I just think they're too lazy to dig a hole and cover it up. However, I still wouldn't be overjoyed if they did that in my garden. When I had a cat she either went in her cat litter tray, if it was raining or icy outside, or she went in a small designated area of our garden. The people next door to me have also got loads of it on their grass and she was only saying to me the other day that she thinks it's revolting, because her two year can't go out to play until his parents have had a 'poop scoop' session.
