I agree Nellie. We bought ours a few years before moving here and, alerted by a friend, brought it with us when we moved. The friend was correct, they were unavailable here. One nursery sold real ones which were 70 euro for the smallest. That makes ours about 25 years old to date and it still looks pristine. IIRC, it cost around 50 quid in B&Q.
In the last few years, Greeks have embraced American-style Christmas so we could replace it if we needed to. No messy needles.
