Online stores are warning of potential delivery delays ahead of Christmas, with many bringing their final date for last orders forward. Retailers like Topshop, Superdry and New Look no longer offering express delivery options www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/online-stores-bring-forward-last-23120541 Stands to reason really. Unprecedented times. Couriers must be groaning under the strain.
The were talking about courier delivery drivers on the radio the other day, someone had rung in to say her other half had 175 parcels to deliver that day, then someone else said they had 258 do to followed by a 3rd caller who said they worked for Amazon and that they had 478 to do!
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right, the only difference is they're wrong
I’ve got three things on their way. One will arrive tomorrow, hopefully, as it’s at my local depot. Two are due to be dispatched w/c 7th December. I finished my Christmas shopping a while ago and so those three things are for me 👍 so if they are delayed then it won’t be too much of a problem.
I’ve got two parcels to send. One for the little boy who used to live next door to me and the other is for Him Ooop North. I’m sending both as tracked and signed for so they should get there the day after I take them to the Post Office. I’m planning to post them a couple of days before the last posting date. I just hope they get there on time or I’ll be texting “IOUs.”

Look Fantastic emailed me this morning to say, ‘ Thank you for your recent order and for shopping with us over Cyber Week.
We have been experiencing a record number of orders and we are also operating a number of enhanced safety measures to keep our colleagues safe at all times. This means that we are currently running slightly slower than normal dispatch times and you may have noticed that our usual delivery options have been adjusted as a result. ‘
As Diamond Diva noted above, huge pressure. This is a weird year all round. We can all bounce our grandchildren on knees and bore them to death telling them about 2020 - the apocalyptic year.

My Look Fantastic was dispatched overnight but if it is Hermes delivering you can add an extra day or two as I think they let their parcels sit around at either end of the journey for covid safety.

Depends on whom they are delivering for- my M&S ordered yesterday is allegedly coming this afternoon but Create & Craft parcels take ages to come, even after the courier has got them. Down to money I reckon.

I'll have to borrow someone else's lol!
Touch wood, I have had no issues with deliveries from various couriers. Lucky I think that my Hermes driver has been the same one for years. He usually comes around the same time, but has stopped waiting for me to answer the door and looks very stressed, unsurprisingly.
