He may be a complete buffoon and a laughing stock in the rest of the world but he was democratically elected by a majority of Americans and, as far as I am aware, he has never been responsible for any deaths unlike other heads of state who have been here on state visits - Ceaucescu, Mugabe, Assad and Putin et al.
Let him come over, cut the ribbon, stay for dinner with Her Maj, then bugger off home again.
That's more or less what Sam and I were saying, this morning, when listening to the news. I think he is quite loathsome but, many others have been feted and banqueted who are responsible for ethnic cleansing and pure wickedness. As you say, let him come, get it over with, he won't stay long.
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
I would rather he finishes his presidency by fair means than foul. As Nellie says he was elected by the people as the official candidate so it is up to the Republicans to decide whether he stays or goes ( unless there is reason for impeachment).
I'm sorry but surely any right minded Republican (tall order granted) would want this racist homophobic misogynistic war-mongering crackpot out as quickly as possible? It beggars belief he's not been ousted yet, as you said earlier Flying Pigs, "surely there must come a time when he gets the boot". He can't be allowed to carry on stumbling from one disaster to the next. OK assassination might be a bit of a hyperbolic suggestion, but I can see it happening if something isn't done soon.
Can you imagine the conspiracy theories if anything happens to Trump, especially if he was in America.
Personally, I would be pleased if he never comes to this country but unfortunately, in view of Brexit , we can't afford to jeopardize the "special relationship" as far as trade goes. For that reason only, he should stay away in my mind, he is the type to make us pay for the rioting that would no doubt take place.
I agree Frazz We don't have to like him, but keep a civil working relationship with him and as Nellie & others have pointed out, he won the race for the White House... ...I'm not going there Must say I was highly amused when I read about Oprah's speech at some luvvie event that resulted in calls for her to stand as the next Democratic president in waiting. Only in America

The President is in "excellent health, and I look forward to briefing some of the details on Tuesday," he said in a short statement.
