I hardly ever watch QVC but, switching channels, it popped up on the Slingbox. I was just about to scroll on when I heard the guest describe the stones in a Lola Rose bracelet as 'Humbug-esque'.
I am now riveted as she prattles on about how the stones are so beautifully tumbled that they won't 'catch on your cashmere'...phew...that often has me worried. She is also pushing some hideously overpriced strips of material which are apparently 'skinny scarves'
It's a whole 'nother world...
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
I don't think it was Nicky .... it was the woman who generally does the shows when Nicky doesn't.
I'll be honest ............ I don't understand why LR is such a popular brand. I prefer 'proper' jewellery rather than lumps of coloured stone around my neck, from my ears or round my wrist. But that's just me and so I hope I won't be lynched for saying that.
I did once buy a pearl friendship bracelet when it was a TSV, so that I could say I'd tried the brand, but I no longer wear it because the thread between the pearls began to fray.
I noticed the other day that the funny fringe has gone. Quite how she managed to go from that to a normal off the face fringe without me spotting I don't know. Not that I watch all the shows but it would have taken months.
I do like Lola Rose. I've always loved semi precious stones as much as precious. It's the colours and markings I love. Mr Tink bought me a really pretty pink Lola Rose bracelet long before I was a QVC watcher. Then Suzie who works for me, bought me an Alfie bracelet in a mix of browns and creams. Oddly though I don't own any of her earrings. I wear some silver pebble earrings that just go with anything. I originally had them in stainless steel but inevitably lost one and replaced with silver.
But that's no recommendation really for Lola Rose because I just love jewellery full stop. I'm currently flirting with Monica Vinader (which I think Liv likes), Rodgers & Rodgers and SVP. And I've also just ordered a classic diamond eternity ring in yellow gold.
I was given a LR scarf and it is very soft and non-scratchy as some can be but that's all I have of her range.
I did buy a chunky blue sandstone friendship bracelet as a gift for someone from Last Clicks and it was well received but I wouldn't pay full price for her stuff as it's available everywhere at reduced prices. Suppose I'm a bit ambivalent about it really.
QVC is brilliant for those that do like the brand though. People seem to buy into a brand like Billy-o then decide it's not for them, meaning you can pick up things like Lola Rose and Lulu Guinness on eBay and Facebook at good prices. And the LR website sales are really good and regularnas clockwork.
I love the scarves but again you really don't need to pay full price for those either.

I do indeed! I haven't looked at the range for a while, so I'll put that right today. I've still got some birthday money. I like the look of Lola Rose & I have got two of her bracelets, but I find the dangly cords a nuisance.
