I suppose technically it is the second as I made a card for FP Minor’s MIL’s birthday yesterday. Anyway had a great time today covering the front and back of my 2018 Journal. I decoupaged the boards with three Craft Consortium papers, watercolour hearts, airmail and corrugated texture board using the cosmic shimmer matt decoupage glue then for added texture used cosmic shimmer glue to stick some lovely lace from The Craft Box on to the decoupage. It is wiro bound so using some split metal key rings and open jump rings to make a dangler with charms from my Craft Box stash- when it has thoroughly dried I will photo it.

You will have to watch one of the more informative craft shows Frazz, where the real artists make. There is a lady called Louise who demonstrates for Royal Talens on Hochanda and she is fabulous , so talented and knowledgeable yet down to earth. The things she produces are just wow! The Indigo Blue shows are good too. I like what they call mixed media which Louise explains is doing two different crafty things in your project like stamping and colouring so my mixed media cover was cutting, sticking ,glueing and adding texture paste. A lot of the shows on both channels are meh but some catch your imagination. I’m not aiming for perfection in anything I do , just to get some satisfaction from having a go. It helps that I can combine my digital crafting with my stash. The hardest part is parting with any of my lovely papers and embellishments as I am like Smaug and want to hoard them.
I think it applies to nearly all crafters. We fall in love with our 'stash'.There is so much amazing material out there now. I remember when I first got the crafting bug and there was only really coloured paper, felt, corrugated paper, glitter, and glue. I used to incorporate bits of lace and buttons because I had come to it through collage which used lots of different textures. I really miss the QVC shows, not so much for the crafty guests but for the wonderful paper and card TSVs and because, since moving here, their postage costs are really cheap compared to other places. I know that is hard to believe as people always moan about their postage but the minimum postage charge from most sites is 13-18 pounds, 4.95 from QVC. If an item has the offer of free P&P, I get charged a nominal pound, which I can hardly complain about.

That is a hefty price cassandra. My buys are steered by p&p costs too so Craftstash has free UK p&p over £15 which means I buy from them regularly . With Hochanda if I know I want several things from shows that month I get membership for the month (£7) and with C&C I have membership so it’s sometimes free p&p otherwise I work out desire to have versus too much p&p. I have gold membership with Crafters Companion so that’s 15% discount plus free p&p so that’s cheaper than buying from Hochanda.
I understood what you were saying, FP!! It looks lovely. I have a notebook that I am in the process of 'gussying up' as it were but I can't decide which way to go yet! The postage is what always gives me grief as I usually only want to spend a few pounds so with p&p it often almost doubles it! I have dropped back down to Bronze with CC which is a bugger. Country View Crafts is one of my favourites - free postage regardless of order size (starts at £7-50 for Europe, Cass). They do a lot of the Finnabair stuff which I love and is perfect for mixed media. (If you haven't found her yet she is on FB and has a blog - tworzysko.blogspot.co.uk/)
