This is my finished clock, made from the kit I got for Christmas. It's only chipboard but that made it much lighter and easier for me to handle!
The back two layers are covered with papers - chosen to match my dining room - then 'roughed up' a bit and sealed. The numbers ring was painted, textured with paste and stencils, painted again and then highlighted with metallic waxes. The embellishments are very sparse for one of my pieces - I'm normally much more OTT but the hands wouldn't go round then!! I love the big brass bee - had to get that in somehow!

Very impressive EarlyBird. Which waxes did you use?Liking the steampunk style but like you love that bee! I love crafting with bee embellishments , paper and stamps and dies. I got some lovely stationery with bees on from a friend this Christmas but I am having trouble using it as I just want to look at it. Just seen Jo Austin with some MDF clocks on Hochanda. I have a stash of clocks and cogs for die cutting, stamping and stencilling but never tried to make a working clock. It’s beautiful.
I use the Finnabair waxes, FP. I have tried several different ones but they are by far the best (imo!) and can be applied with a paintbrush, cloth, fingers etc. They are permanent on most surfaces and polish up really nicely when dry.
I made a clock for MIL's Christmas present a few years ago - that was a Tando one I believe. Mine was Fab Scraps I think. And I thought you'd like the bee!
