Good grief, there are many genuine asylum seekers among those who land, many have waited months, some, years, in camps without hope of making a living or reuniting with family.
The dinghies are their last hope.
Our government, the French, Turks, Greeks are all guilty of not processing them in situ and doing beggar all about the smugglers and the criminals that tag along.
It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.
Lions on patrol was not a serious comment, believe it or not. š
However, someoneās got to do something. 60% are from Albania and are young men. Albania and France are also not war torn countries. If they are all genuine asylum seekers then why do they throw all their documentation into the Channel or disappear as soon as they land? . Many are known to be economic migrants and thatās fair enough but they should come here via the normal channels or with documentation. All governments should target the people traffickers because thatās where it all starts.
I have absolutely no problem with genuine asylum seekers though, or women and children. They should however get people through the process in days, not years. Itās about time our government āgot their finger out.ā I also know that Iām not alone in having this point of view., although probably no one here will agree with it, but hey ho.
