I remember February 1963 well Liv , the weather was indeed very harsh.I was actually in Colwyn Bay at boarding school at the time as my parents were in India. The games mistress took us out sliding as outside games was impossible- she fell and knocked herself out on the path. Imagine what H&S would do with that nowadays!
I'm not particularly worried although I know a cold snap is on its way. I have a fully stocked freezer after today's shopping trip (not because of the weather, but because I was running low,) I put the heating on yesterday to check it's working and it is and I've got no appointments or lunches with friends scheduled. So I'm ready to hunker down.
I just hope, if the forecasters are right, that anyone who does have to venture out stays safe.
There is no forecast for snow, other than maybe on Northern hills, but you will be pleased to know just in case, I still have some the meals in the freezer from my original post.
Perhaps a little early for snow but I wouldn't complain. And if lots of snow is the price we pay for the summer we just had then that is fine by me. Besides, I just finished knitting myself a lovely scarf so I'm ready.
