I use to love the original show. not a big fan of Chris Tarrant, but he was good as the host. I'm afraid I've not been tempted to watch the new show, can't stand Jeremy Clarkson.
I stopped watching it a few nights ago when a battle of smugness between Clarkson and a one legged bloke from Burnley became too much, although the contestant won the battle by being so arrogant he lost his pot and limped off with a grand.
I haven't seen it, I'm another who can't stand Jeremy Clarkson but I've just been reading how he messed up last night. He was so sure he knew the answer to the question he didn't bother to look at the answer and told the contestant he was correct when he wasn't, the poor guy thought he'd won 32k
He made some very unnecessary comments to the contestants who were not doing very well. One thing to take the mickey in a fun way, but not to be downright nasty. He is unpleasant and boorish.

Mr Clarkson’s column in the Sunday Times is very tongue in cheek about Manchester today, where he had to film Millionaire. “Manchester is not Britain’s second city. It’s the first. And it should be the next city of culture too, not because it was once home to Geoffrey Chaucer - it wasn’t - but because it it is the city that best represents the culture we have now . Fake breasts, Ferraris and football”. If he gets a second series he needs to remember we Mancunians ( as I am supposed to write Greater Manchester in my address I can claim this when it suits) also have long memories.
