It’s getting excellent reviews but not something the FPs wanted to watch having been aware of the scandal over many years of newspaper reading. As with other ‘sex’ scandals involving politicians ( David Mellor, John Major anyone?) it wasn’t something I wanted to hear about again.
I recently read the excellent book that this dramatisation is based upon and, although these events were happening at a time I should probably have been paying attention to political intrigue, this whole sordid and fascinating story was never fully revealed at the time.
Believe me, FP, Major and Mellor's pathetic little dalliances have nothing on this!
We're recording this to binge watch.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
That may be true but, apparently, no-one has ever had access to as much evidence or as many of those involved and their heirs - ie the barrister George Carman's son co-operated fully with the research - as the author, John Preston. It is a meticulously researched and elegantly written book.
Don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.
I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to watch this or not, am recording as they are often a lot better than you think and contain snippets of things you didn't know about at the time.
It was very, very explicit. Just as well Himself wasn't watching, he would have gone on some Fine acting from Hugh Grant. He actually seems to morph into Thorpe
What a corker! Absolutely brilliant! Really funny at times too. Hugh Grant became Jeremy Thorpe & Ben Whishaw (Norman Scott) was right up there with him.

In The Sunday Times yesterday there was an article by Tom Mangold and stuff about the man who was dead but isn’t and is being sought by the Gwent police. Definitely something fishy.
